This recall was initiated after the company was notified of positive Salmonella test results in product sampled by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Only packages bearing the Julian packed-on dates listed below are subject to recall:

The product was distributed to 96 Natural Grocers stores in Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. Consumers can find the specific locations of Natural Grocers stores here. To date the company has received no reports of illness. Consumers who may have purchased this product should return it to the store for credit or refund. Salmonella infection can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (e.g., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
