Biscomerica Corp. is recalling 4 types of berry cookies because they may contain milk that is not listed as an ingredient.
The California-based company is voluntarily recalling cartons of its Knott’s Berry Farm brand Boysenberry Cookies, Blueberry Cookies, Raspberry Cookies and Strawberry Cookies, citing a risk that the products may contain undeclared milk.

Each type of cookie was distributed in a case containing 12 cartons (16 oz. each). Inside the cartons are 8 bags at 2 ounces each. Products subject to recall habe an expiration date of April 01, 2012 through December 05, 2012. Dates are located on the back of the bag in the upper left hand corner or on the outside of the carton on a white sticker on the rear of the case.
The four types of cookies can be identified by the following item numbers:
– Boysenberry Cookies: #59680
– Blueberry Cookies: #59675
– Raspberry Cookies: #59670

The recall was initiated after an investigation found that Biscomerica had listed whey, a milk product, as an ingredient but had not identified it as “milk,” an allergen that must be declared on packaging.
Production of the berry cookies has been suspended until the problem is corrected.
