The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service will host a red meat mobile slaughter unit information session on September 9. The goals of this information session are to educate farmers, ranchers, and processors on how to operate mobile slaughter units and meet USDA food safety requirements. The session is being held as part of USDA's "Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food" initiative.
The information session will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. PDT at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension offices located at 2621 Northgate Lane, Suite 15, in Carson City, Nev.
