Food Safety Plan Workshop

Farmers will learn how to develop a food safety plan at a workshop offered April 14 and 15 at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Learning Farm.
The sessions will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The program is designed for farmers who are required by buyers to provide third-party verification of their food safety practices and for others considering certification.
A third session will be added by early summer to take place on a participant's farm where there will be a mock audit with a state Agriculture and Markets inspector.
Presenters are the Cornell Vegetable Team, the university's National Good Agricultural Practices program and the Lake Ontario Fruit Program.
