Food Safety Manager

New Seasons Market is looking for an outgoing, energetic, friendly person to become our Food Safety Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing the development of the New Seasons Market Food Safety Program.

Food Safety Manager responsibilities:

Your work will include: All aspects of developing an internal food safety monitoring and training program. Recommending and implementing improvements in practices, procedures and equipment as it relates to food safety. Oversight of staff development and training in all aspects of food safety. Conducting in-house food safety inspections. Ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local food safety regulations. Working with vendors to improve practices in maintaining a safe food supply.

Other Duties: Partnering with the marketing department in representing New Seasons Market to the public and industry. Assisting in planning store remodels and opening new store or other food handling facilities. Assisting with improvements in housekeeping practices. Performing cost/benefit analysis for improvements to food safety. Possible involvement in leading work safety initiatives and training.

Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate will possess the following: Bachelors or Master degree in food science, micro-biology or related field. Minimum 3 years experience in food safety inspection or related position. HACCP trained or certified. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Proven project development, organizational, project and time management skills as well as follow through and attention to detail. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to adapt and enjoy working in the company culture of New Seasons Market. Ability to travel regularly to all New Seasons Market locations. Previous public speaking experience is a plus. Previous experience in company work safety initiatives a plus.
