USDA to Hold Public Meeting on Milk

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of Food Safety and the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) announced last week that they will hold a public meeting to provide information and address comments regarding milk and milk products on Wednesday, January 13, 2010.

The public meeting precedes the 9th Session of the Codex Committee on Milk and Milk Products (CCMMP), which will be held in Aukland, New Zealand, from February 1-5, 2010.

At the February meeting, members of the CCMMP will address the following issues:

  • Maximum levels of annatto extracts in Codex Standards for milk and milk products.
  • Draft Amendment to the Codex Standard for Fermented Milks pertaining to drinks based on fermented milk.
  • Consistency of the Model Export Certificate for Milk and Milk Products with the Generic Model Official Certificate.

CCMMP is an international committee hosted by the Government of New Zealand.

Codex was created in 1963 by the Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Health Organization, which are both United Nations organizations.  Codex develops food standards, guidelines, and codes of practice to protect consumer health, ensure fair food trade practices, and promote coordination of food standards undertaken by international governmental and non-governmental organizations.

A complete agenda and documents relating to the 9th Session of CCMMP is available on the Codex Alimentarius Web site at http://www.codexalimentarius.net/current.asp.

Glad the food is being monitored by the world health org and united nations

Codex is a joke. It does not regulate food safty. It takes healthy foods away from us and increases the amount of toxins allowed to be put it our food above “safe” levels. The amount of Annatto extracts allowed in milk under codex currently stands at 2000 times higher than levels known to be consitered safe. I cant find one good thing about codex, the WHO, or the UN. If you look at the cover story they tell you it always looks good. But if you look at the documents that these organizations release you will find its all about control. These people have never done anything for the little guy or the big guy. Only themselves. Who put them in charge anyway? Oh yeah. The international bankers.

Don’t be so glad… Codex is highly criticized and aims to steal the publics freedom of choice of healthy, SAFE foods. Codex standards will ban many high value vitamins and nutrient supplements and allow the increased use of toxic pesticides and genetically modified food products.
This Codex alimentarius is not safe and is a way of controlling food and thus controlling populations. I ask that you do some more research to find out for yourself that the UN and WHO may not be as trust worthy as you thought.
