Please join the Institute of Medicine's Food Forum in a 2-day workshop to explore food supply issues of particular importance to aging populations. This workshop is jointly supported by the Interagency Risk Assessment Consortium (IRAC), the Food and Drug Administration?s
Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, and the Food Forum membership

The workshop will serve as a forum for experts in various disciplines to discuss the size, demographics, and health status of community dwelling populations over the age of 50 and bring attention to the food safety and nutritional concerns that arise in these populations.  The
workshop will also provide insight on how consumer messaging, food processing, and food reformulation can be used in preventative approaches to reduce food safety and nutritional concerns for this growing segment of the U.S. population. Session topics include:

  • Food Safety Concerns for Aging Populations
  • Nutritional Concerns for Aging Populations
  • Communicating with Aging Populations
  • Future Challenges and Solutions to Providing Healthy and Safe Foods to Aging Populations
