Senior Environmental Health Specialist - Food Sanitation Environmental Health
$20.35-21.23/Hour to Start with maximum to $25.78/Hour

Environmental Health Specialist - Food Sanitation Environmental Health
$16.61-17.33/Hour to Start with maximum to $21.04
Under
the supervision of an Environmental Health Supervisor, enforces
environmental health regulations and provides consultative services in
programs under the jurisdiction of the Environmental Health Services.
Authorizes or denies permits, licenses or rights to operate certain
businesses and makes on-site inspections at industrial, commercial,
residential and public locations to determine conformity with the
Sanitary Code and state and federal laws and regulations. Reviews
plans, blueprints and specifications for construction of new facilities
or renovation of existing structures for compliance with environmental
health standards and advises owners, builders, architects and others
regarding prevention or correction of problems. This position is in the
food safety and sanitation program.
The
Senior Environmental Health Specialist requires possession of a
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health or a related field. One year
as an Environmental Health Specialist. Registration as a Sanitarian in
Michigan or REHS registration through the National Environmental Health
Association.
The
Environmental Health Specialist requires possession of a Bachelor's
Degree in Environmental Health or a related field. This is an entry
level position. No previous experience is required. Requires the
ability to travel throughout the County. Michigan drivers license
required as well as good communication skills and ability to work
independently. An official transcript depicting degree
required.
